Young Children are Invited to Participate in an iPad Eye-Tracking Project
Is your child 4 or 7 years old? If the answer is “yes,” you are invited to participate in a research project that studies visual attention patterns in children using iPads.
Your child will be asked to use an uniquely designed iPad app with sign language video while an eye tracking machine will track your child’s eye gaze. Your child must not know any sign language.
The experiment is about 1 hour long and takes place at Gallaudet University. We’ll pay you $20 per hour for your participation plus give you a free download of a VL2 storybook app. (For more information please visit http://www.vl2storybookapps.com)
Please contact BL2 to schedule an appointment: [email protected]
This project has been approved by the Gallaudet IRB.
The principal investigators on the project are Dr. Laura-Ann Petitto, the Director of Brain & Language Lab (BL2), Dr. Thomas Allen, the Co-Principal Investigator at Visual Language and Visual Learning (VL2), and Melissa Malzkuhn, Digital Innovation and Media Strategies Manager (VL2), all based at Gallaudet University.
