Why are No Parking signs being put up for inauguration in residential neighborhoods?
I live on the 1100 block of 11th St NW (between L & M), and No Parking signs went up last night on all our neighborhood streets, prohibiting parking from noon on Sunday to 6am Tuesday morning (inauguration weekend).
I was immediately concerned, because where in the hell are we and our neighbors supposed to park our cars for that whole time?
I went online to look for an answer, and I found a couple of lists of temporary No Parking areas put out by the city, but my block isn’t on any of those lists. 10th & 11th are supposed to be off limits for parking from H St to the Mall, but we’re several blocks North of that.
This seems like quite an overreach, since we’re not even close to the inaugural parade route.
Any ideas on why these signs are going up in unlisted areas?
