What’s on your DC bucket list?

So I will be leaving DC (and the country) in about four months, and I’m putting together my “bucket list” of things to do before leaving the city (parks/museums/restaurants/etc).  Any recommendations?  Or feel free to just share what is (or would be) on your list!

My first thoughts:
– eat lunch at the Museum of the American Indian
– bike around the Capital Crescent Trail

See if you can score a tour of the interior (then to the top) of the Capitol Dome.  The view from the top is spectacular!

I second the Building Museum (their gift shop rocks!) and Rock Creek Cemetery, if only to visit the Adams Memorial (aka “Grief”).
A summer evening picnic at Bishop’s Garden, next to the Cathedral.
A DC United game, with tickets in Barra Brava’s section (that’s key…sections 135-138).
Bike to and walk around Roosevelt Island, visit Teddy Roosevelt memorial.
The National Arboretum and/or Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens (in July when the lotuses are blooming).
A nighttime monument/memorial tour.
Baked & Wired cupcakes.
Ben’s half smoke.
A weekend Beach Drive bike ride.
Eastern Market.
Food trucks!
Climb to the top of Washington Monument (is that still possible?)

I’ve been planning on visiting Dumbarton Oaks since I read an amazing description about it in a book … (Waking the Moon by Elizabeth Hand) …

FDR memorial at night time. So pretty. 🙂
