Way to research police reports?

Something went down at the building next door to me last night (involving a SWAT team) and I’m curious, but I’m not sure how to find out what happened. Is there a way to look that up?

Try MPD’s Crime Map: http://crimemap.dc.gov/presentation/query.asp
Per their site, “Typically the system is updated each business day with crimes reported on the previous day. Crimes reported on weekends and holidays are added to the system on the next business day.”

if you’re on the police list serve for your area, just post your question – they will usually give you more details.

anongardener is right on – the MPD list servs are the best way to get info:
above is for 4th District.  If you live in another district, just replace ‘4’ with whatever police district you live in.  That said, US Park Police, ATF and other federal agencies execute warrants in DC and occasionally do not coordinate these with MPD, so there may be no information available on the raid, but it never hurts to ask.
