Upholsterer in DC?

I’m looking to get two antique chairs upholstered – any recommendations? I’d like to modernize these 100+ year chairs a bit, but don’t know of any upholsterers in DC. Any help will be greatly appreciated!

Call this guy –he is excellent Manuel Baquero

I recently had an almost-antique chair redone and was very happy with John from Woodridge Upholsterers, 202.529.6220 (he was recommended to me by an interior designer/architect client). He’s old school, really nice guy, no email, came to the house with fabric swatches, picked up and delivered for no extra fee, very fair price (about $250 less than some place I called in Rockville, plus they had a $75 delivery charge).  Hope that helps!

I’ve used Woodridge several times and been quite satisfied.

I had this same question recently.  I went to Miss Pixie’s on 14th street and asked if they had recommendations and she handed me a prepared list of 4 or 5 names of recommended upholsterers.  Of course, now I have no idea where that sheet is.  But call Miss Pixie’s or stop by!
