Topic: Travel Training
Dear Community Members, Friends, and Colleagues:
Good day. Being a person with a disability who is new to DC, public transportation can be challenging. I learned this first hand when I moved to DC ten years ago from a country dependent on cars to get around. Currently, I am a Travel Trainer for a program called On the Move with DC Metro.
On the Move provides a free service that works to support people with disabilities who want to learn to use the bus and rail independently. Our program has travel trainers that have resources and knowledge to make this happen.
Please let me know if you know any citizens with disabilities that would be interested in getting around the DC Metropolitan area using public transportation and benefit from the services provided through the On the Move program.
My email is [email protected] and my phone number is 202-656-1128. I look forward to hearing from you.
With the utmost respect and sincerity,
