Summer camp for 11 year old

kbp

This is my first summer in DC and my son is slated to spend the summer with me. I would like information on good fullday summer camps in DC (preferably in Ward 4). Any information that you can share would be useful.

Thanks,

Hi, not sure how convenient these will be (not in Ward 4) – but I have an 8 year old son who has liked the following:  Headfirst @ St. Albans (they have sports and science camps), the National Zoo, Sidwell (sports and other academic stuff as well).  Good luck!

They should be given permission to go for it. This is the only age when they can identify themselves as individuals. So let them have this freedom.

My daughter loves the summer camp at Lowel School in Shepard Park. They have swimming every day, and a nice campus with lots of green space, which is nice for summer in the city.

I can recommend iD Tech Camps.  My son took an app development class last summer and will probably do a programming course in July.  It’s held at American University. http://www.internaldrive.com/locations/dc-summer-camps-washington-dc-computer-camps/american-university-georgetown-area/
