Share Your Professional Experiences at a Career Fair for Low-Income Youth!
For over 21 years, Capital Partners for Education (CPE) has improved the futures of motivated, low-income youth throughout the DC metro area by helping them get to and through college.
We need 75 awesome professionals to volunteer at CPE’s annual Career Fair and introduce our students to a range of different careers!
Saturday, April 11, 1-3pm
What will you do?
Host a table (similar format to that of a job fair on a college campus) and talk to CPE students about your career field including:
– Your personal journey
– Different types of jobs available in your field
– Education requirements
– Skills nessary for success
– What students can do now if they are interested in pursuing your career (i.e. what classes to take, which associations/clubs to join, what to do over the summers).

About Capital Partners for Education:
Nationally, 41% of low-income students will enter college, while only 8% will finish by their mid-20s.
In Wards 7 and 8, where the highest percentage of our students reside, only 1 in 3 students finish high school within five years, and only 1 in 20 high-school graduates earn a college degree within five years.
Since inception, 99% of Capital Partners for Education (CPE) graduates have gone on to college, and 70% have graduated on time.
Founded in 1993, Capital Partners for Education (CPE) is a dynamic college preparatory program that helps motivated, low-income students in the Washington Metropolitan area to get to and through college by providing one-on-one mentoring, college and career preparation and support, individualized staff support, school partnerships and scholarships.
