Roof rats – yuck.

mls

We just learned we likely have roof rats. Looking for exterminator referrals who have experience with these pests and any advice from homeowners who have dealt with this disgusting problem.

Rats thrive where there are large amount food supply left out in the open where they are easily accessible. Try storing bulk food items in metal containers instead it will be harder for the rat to get through. Remove any clutter like paper or cardboard that the rat could build as a nest. Seal any openings larger than 1\4 th of an inch with caulk, wood or mesh. Baiting is a good method to get rid of rats. Just use some poisons or rodenticides to attract the rats. Just try this out, it would work.

We had a lot of roof rats and they were really frustrating. Every nit we could hear all kind of noises in our kitchen. First we tried to keep rat poison, and it became a greater headache for us. Some rats died in our roof and we were not able to remove them from there and it started to stink. Then we used to keep rat traps and it worked well. But still we have a lot of them. We regularly keep traps and hope we’ll get rid of them one day.
