Recourse for stolen packages?

I had a couple of packages stolen off my porch over the weekend — I saw they had been delivered but before I had a chance to bring them in, someone nabbed them. (Yes, lesson learned, bring in immediately in the future. Do not stop, do not pass go.)

For anyone who has dealt with this before — did you have any recourse? I didn’t see the person take them, so all I know is that they were there one minute and gone the next.

Did you physically see the packages? or did you get a notification by email or text that they had been delivered?

Who delivered them? UPS? USPS? Was signature required or had you waived the signature requirement?

There is recourse, but more info is needed.
