Local band seeks lead singer
Established local cover band, Jeff from Accounting (www.jefffromaccounting.com), is seeking a new lead singer. After several years, our lead singer/rhythm guitarist is moving out of the DC area. We are looking for a true “front man”, as our new band member must be equal parts singer, musician, and entertainer.
A few details about the band and what we are looking for: Jeff from Accounting is a cover band, playing mostly rock and pop. We really just play what we like and some of what the crowd wants. We play bars, music venues, private events, and some weddings. If you go to the band’s website, http://www.jefffromaccounting.com, you can see a little bit of who we are and what we do. There is a lot up there – from songs we play, upcoming show schedule, past venues we have played (and continue to play), etc. If Jeff from Accounting looks like a band you might be interested in, then…
We are looking for a lead singer AND musician. Our new band member must play an instrument, like guitar or keyboard, and sing as well. They would be the lead singer, but other members of the band sing back up, and sometimes take lead on songs too.
We practice once a week. Usually a week day. Our practice area is in Northeast DC, near Catholic University and the NE DC/Maryland border. Certainly everyone in the band has their own schedules and commitments, and we play whenever it works for everyone; but generally we play 2-4 shows a month. Sometimes we travel for weddings or other events. We are guys in their late 20s/early 30s, and we all have day jobs (thus the band name, though none of us are Jeff and no one is an accountant), so this is all for fun.
If you are interested in joining the band, respond to our Craigslist Ad (http://washingtondc.craigslist.org/doc/muc/4399173232.html). Give us some info about yourself, maybe some links to some work you’ve done, other bands you have been in, etc. We’ll get in touch and try out a few people during the month of April. We’ll jam a few songs, hang out, see if it’s a good fit. Thanks!
