Investing in Anacostia ??

Been considering purchasing one of the new Townhomes being constructed on the hill overlooking D.C. in Anacostia. 314k for 3/2.5 with garage and terrace. I know it’s Anacostia, but thinking there is some upside potential in it. I.e. Columbia Heights, AdMo, U-Street-esque.
I can almost see it being a destination area , in time.. somewhat like Miami’s Wynwood district was/is … Any input??

For long term viability, just look at the proximity to downtown DC. Why would it be any different than Arlington? The key is what “in time” are you comfortable with.

Spend time in the neighborhood at different times of the day/night.  Walk around, check out how far away conveniences are like groceries, dry cleaning, etc.  Check out what your commute would be like.  Ride the bus, walk to the metro.  You’ll get a feeling if you like it or not.

Look a the buildings construction, I watched many of the newer townhouses in SE be erected of particle board and quarter brick or siding.
