Infant daycares in the neighborhood?
Help! I did not realize that in order to get a kid into daycare, I should have been calling centers to be put on wait lists the moment I found out I was pregnant. So now I have a 4 month old baby, “plans” to go back to work in a month, but no one to leave the baby with.
Dear PoPville, where do you send your kids during the day?! We both work in the service industry, so cost is definitely a factor. I’m mostly interested in either home daycares or even just a good resource for regular babysitters in the area. I’m working my way through all of the forums/listservs in the neighborhood I can think of, but am hoping that some other parents will have words of wisdom or trusted resources to pass along. We don’t know any other parents to pick their brains.
More details: we’re looking for part-time care (probably 3-4 days a week, around 10:30-4:00pm, though this is somewhat flexible) starting in February. He’ll be 5 months by then. We live in Mt Pleasant and prefer somewhere here or in Adams Morgan, but I work in Georgetown so that’s a possibility as well.
