Great American Square Dance Revival
Winner of the Washintonian’s “Most Surprisingly Awesome Dance Night:”
Come to Saint Stephens on Saturday, October 8 to dance to some righteous hard-charging mountain music, courtesy of the Allegheny Highballers! That’s DC Square Dance co-founder Scott Prouty on fiddle, Anne Hartman on banjo, Josh Wanstreet on guitar and Kevin Enoch on bass. Mike Costello of Lost Creek Farm will be calling the figures. It’s sure to be a night to remember!
As always, all are welcome – young and old, brand new and experienced dancers. No partner, lessons, overalls, or frilly dress needed. Just walk on in and dance.
Doors at 8:00 pm; dancing 8:30 to 11:30 pm.
Admission is $5 cash or check. Sorry, no credit cards. Snacks and drinks to share are welcomed.
Folks outside the neighborhood, consider biking or taking the Metro! Saint Stephens is a short walk from the Columbia Heights station on the green/yellow lines. For drivers, there is some street parking and a garage below the shopping mall on Park Rd. at 14th St.
This dance is sponsored by the Folklore Society of Greater Washington.
