GE refrigerator repair

Any recommendations for good refrigerator repair service?   Stays cold, but not reaching freezing in freezer compartment.   Thanks.

How old is the fridge, and how fancy/pricey a model?  Unless the fridge is very new and/or expensive, it might be almost as much to repair it as to replace it.
I don’t have specific fridge repair recommendations, unfortunately, but I would recommend staying AWAY from A&E Factory Service (if I remember the name correctly).  A few years ago, they came out to look at my washing machine, which suddenly stopped working after 6 months, and it was like the Keystone Kops of appliance repair — multiple appointments, every appointment a different technician, etc., etc.

I used Marc Weinstein at
He is very affordable and honest.

I have a GE profile fridge. It was making a clicking noise for about 3 weeks and finally stopped cooling in top and bottom compartments. My repair man came and said that it was most likely just the mother board in the back of the fridge and he recommended rather than calling the GE repair folks who charge you A TON just to come look at it, for me to research the part and replace it my self. It ended up being a $90 piece of hardware that I installed myself in about 10 minutes. Before you spend TONS on repair or go out and buy a new $2400 (my fridge cost that much) try getting a new motherboard and see if that works. You can watch the YouTube video online at
It saved me so much money and now the cooling system works better than before.
I bought the part online using the seriel number at Amazon.
