Any ideas for getting an abandoned USPS box removed?

There’s a green, graffiti’d post office box on the corner of 10th & Quebec NW. It’s not a mailbox that customers can deposit mail into, and I’ve never seen the postal carriers use it.

Trash and broken glass accumulate around and under it all the time. It’d be great if USPS could just take it away, but I have no idea how we could even request that — my inquiries to USPS have gone unanswered. I emailed our ANC rep (Vann-Di Galloway) and Brandon Todd’s office, and while they said they’d look into it the box is still there.

Anyone have any other ideas? Thanks!

I think the postal service use those boxes for some type of temporary storage, resulting from my having observed a postal employee access same with a key and seeing some of those postal “crates” inside same; Unfortunately, Councilman’s Todd’s office has a history of very poor constituent services! Try your ANC rep. who might have some information minimally about “what those boxes are used for”, OR ask a postal person you encounter anywhere at any time, what they’re for.
