D.C. Meet and Greet Damian Kidd for Congress

I am Damian Kidd and I am running against Jason Chafffetz to represent Utah’s third congressional district. I will be available to meet with D.C. residents for a meet and greet/town hall event on Friday evening(3/17) from 5-8pm at the Key Bridge Marriott, 1401 Lee Highway, Arlington, VA Virginia

Mr. Chaffetz is losing credibility and support at home and in Washington, D.C. He has ignored the principles of limiting federal government in local affairs and local self-determination. We embrace these principles here in Utah.

When in Congress I pledge to never meddle in DC affairs and to be vocal against any congressman/woman who does.

Movie at the Washington DC Jewish Film Festival: THE PEOPLE VS FRITZ BAUER

Tuesday, August 16, 7:30pm
Edlavitch DCJCC, 1529 16TH Street NW, 20036

Germany, 1957. Attorney General Fritz Bauer receives crucial evidence on the whereabouts of SS-Obersturmbannführer Adolf Eichmann. The lieutenant colonel, responsible for the mass deportation of the Jews, is allegedly hiding in Buenos Aires. Bauer, himself Jewish, has been trying to take crimes from the Third Reich to court ever since his return from Danish exile.
However, with no success so far due to the fierce German determination to repress its sinister past. Because of his distrust in the German justice system, Fritz Bauer contacts the Israeli secret service Mossad, and, by doing so, commits treason. Bauer is not seeking revenge for the Holocaust – he is concerned with the German future.
Winner of 6 German Oscars (including Best Film and Best Director).
Co-presented with the Goethe-Institut

Meditate the Vote – From Anger and Blame to Hope & Solutions (Busboys & Poets)

What leads your vision for our future? In our national arena it seems the political choices have become less about what we are for and more about what we are against. Although many of us have become weary of this negativity, we still find ourselves caught up in it. Is there a way for each of us to play a part in shifting this paradigm from politics of anger and blame to politics of hope and solutions?

Join Sister Jenna, Director of the Meditation Museums (MD & VA) and host of the globally broadcast America Meditating Radio Show, as she leads us in a diverse conversation that explores the power and vision in all of us to move forward towards real solutions for our nation and the world. Don’t miss this very special event. RSVP at

Political Vandalism

Thought the Forum would be interested in some political sign vandalism I witnessed last Thursday (Oct 9th) around 7pm on the corner of 17th & T streets in Dupont Circle.

I was walking to my apartment when I witnessed a women in her 30s pushing a stroller with a baby, tear down TWO “Vote Yes on Initiative 71 (Legalize Marijuana)” signs. She casually then walked and threw them into the closest trash can. I couldn’t believe it; and as I walked by her I said “So I guess you don’t like marijuana?” to which she began to inform me that the initative “sends a horrible message to the children in the city!”. I replied, “Oh, so I guess you are just a fascist.” She was pretty flummoxed as I walked away, but even I wasn’t going to get into a political argument with a mother and her baby.

It doesn’t matter that I am pro-Initiative 71; regardless on how you feel about a political issue or candidate, one should never tear down a sign, which I believe is illegal. She is entitled to her opinion, and it should be voiced on Nov. 4th at the ballot box.

Anyone else every witness this?
