Like to sing? Free on Tuesday nights?

We are a small, non-religious, chorus of amateurs who love to sing. We have a range of music skills from sight-readers to shower singers and a range of ages from student loans to AARP. We don’t require auditions. Our rehearsals are held on Tuesday nights from 6:50 to 8:50 p.m. at First Baptist Church, 16th & O Streets NW. (We are not part of the church. They rent a rehearsal room to us.)

We work on a wide variety of music and perform about 3-5 times during our fall and spring semesters. In the fall, we typically work on seasonal pieces for performances in December. In the spring, we might sing anything from Italian madrigals and classical pieces to Gershwin, Berlin, show tunes, spirituals and rock. Each semester, we also want to make a difference in our community, so we perform at retirement or nursing homes. Because we do not sell tickets to our performances, members contribute as we are able to cover the costs for the pianist, the rehearsal room, new music, etc. The average cost is about $150 per semester. But please don’t let this stop you from joining us though — some pay more than others, some less. We don’t want anyone to stay away because they cannot pay the whole amount.
You can contact our music director with any questions – her name is Erica Haman and you may email her through our Faceook page or [email protected]
