Greetings Popville, I lost my keys yesterday and I’m frantic. I either lost them at lunch time, somewhere between 17th and 14th, K and Eye Streets NW (McPherson Square) or in the evening on the A9 bus or on the walk between L’Enfant Plaza Plaza and 3rd and K St SW. I’ve called the places I went to (CVS, doctor’s office). My next step is WMATA and maybe the police, although I doubt anyone turned them in.
Keep your eyes peeled for:
A bulky bunch of keys that include: a navy blue lanyard that says ‘Lee’s Summit West High School 2008′, red and white beads that say “KELLY”, a purple bottle opener with “Belize” on it… A Honda Key Fob, two small gray fobs, five regular keys of varying sizes, and lots of scan tags like CVS, harris Teeter, Walgreens, MINT, etc.
I tweeted this below, feel free to RT to have your friends’ eyes out too, in case I did drop them on the road!
Help! DC friends please RT: Lost keys including Honda key fob, lanyard that says 'Lee's Summit West High School 2008' in SW DC (?)

On the evening of Tuesday, Jan. 5, I found a bike abandoned in the 900 block of Quincy St., NW. I’d love to reunite the bike with its owner!
If you have recently lost your bike and think this one might be yours, please email [email protected] with as many details as possible (brand, color, condition, along with any unique identifying features of the bike). If I have your bike, I’ll return it to you as soon as possible.
We found a wallet with just an ID and SmartTrip card in our front yard this morning near 14th and Randolph. The ID is for Alvaro Quinones Cortes. Please contact me if you can help find the owner. We’ll turn it over to the 4D police soon.
I found a set of keys last night (Oct 12 2015) around 7 pm outside of the Thomas Circle CVS. A fob key plus some membership tags. I turned them in to CVS hoping they could use the rewards card to look up the owner, but I didn’t get a clear indication from the employees that that was what they were planning to do. Hoping that announcing them here might help reunite the owner with their keys!
If you’re missing a bike, please feel free to email me/respond with a description and any remarkable features and I’ll let you know if this is the bike. Appeared in my neighborhood on Sunday (around 4th and Taylor) and want to make sure it gets back home!
My girlfriend and I were driving home last night and saw a dog running down 16th. We were eventually able to stop it on Monroe st. between 16th and 14th. The is a short hair, 15-18lbs, white hair with dark freckles on face and legs. From a distance it looks like it could be a Jack Russell terrier, but is not. The officer took the dog and called animal services. I have the officers number. I don’t have photos of the dog, but could confirm if the owner sent a photo.
Found this bike dumped in an alley in Shaw behind Beau Thai. Has a sticker that reads ‘Quicksilver Productions’ Kickin american music. Also has tag that reads was purchased at fun wheels inc. mountain and road bike OXFORD ALABAMA
Hello PoPville readers,
Writing on the off chance that anyone might have picked up, seen, or heard anything about a lost shoe (Reebok CrossFit Nano sneaker, Women’s size 7.0, mint/white with gray shoelaces), unwittingly dropped approximately one week ago from an accidentally unzipped bag, somewhere along 14th St NW between Rhode Island and R St.
The solemate of the sneaker pictured here is missed very, very much, and its owner would greatly appreciate it if anyone might have any leads. No questions asked if returned!
Please email [email protected] with any information.
Thank you in advance!
I found a car key this morning on Randolph Street between 5th and 7th streets NW. There aren’t any distinguishing keychains or anything attached. If you think these might be yours, let me know what kind of car it is and I can get your key back to you ASAP.
Hi everyone – I found this kitten darting onto 14th St. at Otis Pl NW last night around 8:45. When I paused for a second she came running to me immediately. She was so affectionate and friendly, and seemed to be well cared for but no tags or collar. I brought her home and called the Washington Humane Society, who came to pick her up since I wasn’t able to house her. The officer I spoke to said he thought she was about 5 months old and that she probably isn’t feral. If someone lost her they should contact WHS and I hope they can be reunited! Her information and a picture is posted here: http://support.washhumane.org/site/PageServer?pagename=lostfoundpet&AddInterest=1047) (scroll through and find Violet)
I’m not sure what happens if no one claims her, but this kitten is so sweet and very adoptable I imagine – in case anyone in PoPville is interested in tracking her down and adopting (a la Rickie from September 2014 – http://www.popville.com/2014/09/shes-been-renamed-rickie-short-for-frederique-in-homage-to-her-frederick-douglass-bridge-heritage-and-gender-bending-ways/)
Either way I hope she gets home!
At approximately 6 am this morning, I was crossing the street at 13th and R St. NW and noticed a belt clip (see photo) with a substantial number of keys (11) that had been clipped to the top of a traffic sign.
(Maybe someone dropped them and a passerby thought the keys’ owner would have a better chance at recovering them if they were affixed somewhere not on the ground?)
On the clip are also two lanyards (not depicted) and each one is embroidered with a name. Knowledge of the names on the lanyards would prove exceptionally helpful in demonstrating that the keys belong to someone replying to this ad.
If you think these might be yours, a bestie’s, or someone you know, please reply so we can get to work reuniting the keys with their rightful owner!
My ID wallet was lost on Euclid St NW between 14th and 18th St NW on January 21st between 5:30-6:30 PM. The wallet is similar to the picture below, but has a more teal pattern. I will provide a generous reward and endless gratitude if returned. Please email [email protected] with any information, thank you!
I lost my engagement thing this morning 12/19 in NW DC on my way to work. I took the 43 or L2 bus from Columbia road and Mintwood place to Farragut north and then took the red line from Farragut north to judiciary square and realized it was missing. It’s my fiancés family heirloom and it means so much to me and I’m desperate to find it! If anyone has any information please contact me and a reward will be offered. Please call me at 410-236-1294.
I picked up a set of keys that fell out of a biker’s pocket last night at the bus stop just south of K St. on 14th. The biker was gone by the time I figured out what had happened.
If you’re missing keys and were riding your bike up 14th Street around 6:15pm last night, message me with a description of the keys.
