Community discussion of Imbolo Mbue's BEHOLD THE DREAMERS at MLK Library

Please join The Fiction Lover’s Book Club as we discuss Imbolo Mbue’s Behold the Dreamers.

We will meet on Monday, November 21st at 6:30 p.m. in Room A-3, located on the Library’s lower level. Those who cannot attend are welcome to post thoughts online in our Goodreads space all month long.

Books are available for registered participants. Readers can register on Eventbrite.com or by walking into The Popular Library on the 1st floor of the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Library at 901 G Street, NW.

The Writer's Den returns to your favorite downtown library!

In search of “A Clean Well-Lighted Room” for your National Novel Writing Month challenge? Stop by The Writer’s Den from 6-7:30pm on Tuesdays in November for contemplation, relaxation, & inspiration.

Drop into our pop-up writer’s lounge for tea and contemplation, held weekly in November at your favorite downtown Library.

Register for NaNaWriMo and get swag to keep you writing.

Writing references, WiFi, and library staff will be available in Room A-10 for your convenience, so that you can stack your pages towards your word count goal.

So “Come Write In” and connect and share with like-minded souls. After November, keep at it by joining the Aspiring Writers Circle, which meets monthly in Room A-3.

Signature Speakers Series: A Conversation with Author Jane Mayer

Jane Mayer, staff writer for The New Yorker and the author of three bestselling and critically acclaimed books, will appear in conversation with Hanna Rosin, co-host of NPR’s Invisibilia podcast, and a national correspondent at the Atlantic. They will discuss Mayer’s latest book, Dark Money: The Hidden History of the Billionaires Behind the Rise of the Radical Right. A book signing will follow.
