The Anti Watch Party

Young Playwrights’ Theater (YPT) is an arts education nonprofit that inspires students to realize the power of their own voices, through in-school and after-school playwriting programs. YPT’s Student Advisory Council will present their final production of eight short plays, which explore identity, character and – yes – hot dogs, in a free staged reading!

DC Code Kitchen + Meat & Greet

IDEAA’s second annual DC Code Kitchen + Meat & Greet! Join us this year as we embark on another action-packed day full of Android learning, coding, and fun. In addition to our developer talks and menu of challenges (and prizes – – – woohoo!!!), we’ve added a student track specifically focused on delivering hands-on training to ANYONE interested in becoming a developer.

We cap off our day of coding with BBQ and beer. And the best part is that it’s ALL FREE!

My change jars are overflowing and I’m looking for a place where I can cash in all these coins for free. TD bank and Coinstar take a percentage, and I’d rather not give banks my hard earned monies. Let me know if you think of anything!

Opera Unmasked

Interested in opera but don’t know where to start? Intimidated by unfamiliar languages and confusing plots? Let us demystify the genre with an accessible opera event.

Learn about the composers, music, and storytelling that makes opera a moving experience. Each screening will be accompanied by a brief introductory lecture courtesy of the Maryland Opera Studio.

October 3 – Rossini’s Barber of Seville
November 7 – Mozart’s Don Giovanni
December 5 – Puccini’s La Bohème

All events will take place in Room 207 at 2 p.m. and are free and open to the public. ​

Our City Festival

Celebrate DC’s culture, people and creativity through film, music and literature at the Our City Festival. Presented by PR and Marketing firm, KRPR, in partnership with the DC Public Library Foundation, the weekend-long event showcases films about DC and hosts live performances featuring Kokayi, Feedel Band, Easy Hand Dance Institute, DJ Sam the Man Burns, Bumper Jackson’s Chris Ousely, Free Minds Book Club, members of the Chuck Brown Band, and many more. Check out the full schedule for more information on tons of free events.

Festival is all day June 5-7.

FREE – Variety of white kitchen cabinets (Columbia Heights/Parkview)


We’re remodeling our kitchen and have a variety of white particle board (maybe Ikea?) kitchen cabinets available to a new home, including:

2 cabinets – 42″ h x 18″ wide with glass doors
2 cabinets – 30″ h x 15″ wide
2 cabinets – 30″ h x 12″ wide
And more!

We’re also giving away one large handmade wood cabinet with laminate countertop attached.

Update your kitchen! Build a laundry room! These need some cleaning, but still have life left to give.

Mount Pleasant Yard Sale/Moving Sale! THIS SUNDAY 7/28!!
