Thanks to a reader for sending this gem from Craigslist:

“$500 / 300ft2 – Fitness-centric couple seeking athletic, open minded female housemate (16th St.)

We are seeking a unique housemate to add to our 2600+ sq foot house. To protect our privacy we are being a bit vague in this ad but are happy to provide more details on reply if you seem like a fit.

He is mid-30s and she is 23. She is the head of household in every way and we have an explicitly female-led relationship. We are seeking a housemate that would be comfortable fitting into that dynamic and playing at least some role in it. This would include supervising him to some degree and holding him accountable for his tasks and chores.

We are also both very into fitness and seek someone similar. We have an extensive gym at home and also both participate in Crossfit, some random HIIT stuff and she has recently started running half marathons. We both work in the business sector and travel some for our jobs.

The space: Our house is recently fully renovated and has a great open kitchen and living room plan for entertaining and a back deck with a large grill. The room you would have is a large private bedroom with ensuite bathroom. It has a 4 large windows with lots of natural light and high ceilings. It does seem to get a little hotter than the rest of the house so we are happy to put in a window or compact airconditioner if you would like. The room is about 14′ wide by 20′ long not including a mid-sized walk in closet and a few other nooks and crannies.

Price: We want the right housemate and will make this work for the right person. My impression is that this room would rent for over $1000 in this area as it is brand new, nice and not an older group house or anything. We are willing to highly subsidize this for the right person and if you are willing to be more involved in helping monitor and enforce his compliance with her rules or act as a person trainer as well we would definitely take that into account.”
