Come out to DC United’s last game of the season on Sunday, October 16th at 5:00pm! This game against NYCFC is anticipated to be one of the most exciting of the season, and your ticket purchase goes toward a great cause: fighting human trafficking and modern day slavery. All tickets purchased through the FTS block will be in midfield, 300 level seats — tickets which normally retail for at least $45, but that you can purchase at a discount here; Free the Slaves is selling midfield, midlevel tickets for as low as $30!

I am hosting an event for a nonprofit on 3/26. We are expecting around 150 people and our venue just fell through. The original place was going to let us host for free so long as we kept it open to the public, which I am totally fine with, but all the other places I have contacted are already booked, or want a huge minimum. I am crowd sourcing recommendations for a place that have a dj space, dance area and at least one bar.
Homeward Trails Rescue will be participating in the 2nd annual Bark at Barcroft event, hosted by GW’s baseball team. We’ll have about 15 dogs coming that are looking for a forever home. Information is below and you can see the dogs coming here: http://www.homewardtrails.org/event/bark-at-barcroft/.
Please come out to support a great cause! And remember, adopt, don’t shop! 🙂
Date: April 19, 2015
Time: 11 – 1 pm
Venue: Bark at Barcroft
Address: 4200 S Four Mile Run Drive, Arlington, Virginia
Starting at 11:00 a.m., pet owners will have the opportunity to enter the DogZone; a special area located inside the gates to Barcroft Park where we will have some of our fabulous HT dogs for adoption and local vendors will be providing services! Pet owners are welcome to bring their well behaved, social, leashed and vaccinated dogs and and purchase tickets to attend the game.
For tickets to Bark at Barcroft, stop by the Athletics ticket office, call (202) 99-GWTIX, or email [email protected]. Tickets will be available for purchase at Barcroft Park the day of the game or during any weekend GW Baseball games prior to April 19th.
HT will be set up just outside the baseball stadium with our sweet adoptable dogs. Maybe one of these adoptable pups can find their forever home with you? Hope to see you there!

So, our wedding came and went.
Many of you will remember our far-less-than flattering review of the Tabard Inn.
We certainly remember your delightful responses.
But this post is to share with you the amazing experience we had at the nearby Beacon Hotel off Rhode Island and 17 NW.
Two, full reviews on Yelp, but here’s the bottom line:
Aric is Director of Catering. From ensuring I had parking right outside the hotel, to introducing us to the head chef so he could custom-design our dinner, this dude went so above and beyond the call of duty that I’m still singing his praises two weeks later.
I worked customer service for a few years as a young lad, and I understand that it’s not easy to meet the needs of total strangers who themselves may not know what they want, so it was both refreshing and relaxing to have worked with the staff of the Beacon.
The venue looks great. Everyone said the food was the best they’d ever had a wedding. The staff is super friendly. And the location? Just south of Dupont?
Three cheers for the Beacon. That’s about all I got.
Does anybody know where to celebrate the world cup champion tonight?
