Prince was lost March 18, 2017 near 49th St NE and Nannie Helen Borroughs. He is a 1.5-year-old white Bichon Frise. He was not wearing a collar at the time. He has a green mark near incision site of neutering. Prince is very calm and is probably scared and hiding. Please contact (225)937-0082

Lost Dog – Black and Brown Hound Mix – Please do Not Chase

After just two hours in her new home, my adopted rescue dog Ellie (shelter/foster name) ran away, most likely in search of her foster home in SE DC. We live in NE DC, and she was last seen near Mt. Olivet Road. Please do not chase her, as she is probably terrified, and can outrun you. If you spot her, Please notify me or the Washington Humane Society (202-576-6664 #1).

Ellie is a black and brown hound mix, about 35 lbs, and wearing a purple collar.

She was rescued from the floods in NC this fall, and spent two weeks with a foster, so she is probably trying to find her way back home. She is very shy, and not aggressive.

Vet that allows me to stay with my dog before surgery to spay?

Does anyone know of a local veterinarian that will let me stay with my dog until she is brought back to be anesthetized for her spaying procedure? My current vet (Atlas) requires me to drop my dog off at 8 am and have her sit in a cage until her procedure at 11:30. I know she’ll need to be shaved and have blood taken but I’d like to be with her until the she is anesthetized.

– Young dog yesterday near 15th and Belmont NW
– lab mix?
– she did not have tags
– She was very playful, her eyes were bright, her fur was shiny and clean and she looked well fed.

Right now she is at the animal shelter on New York Avenue in DC where they will hold her for five days before she is put up for adoption. I know it’s a really long shot but if you could share this post and keep circulating it, maybe her owner(s) will see it and claim her.

Looking for the owner of 2 lg dogs – Queen and King

If anyone knows the owners of the 2 large dogs (a mixed shepherd and tan/white pit bull) that were roaming in Crestwood yesterday, please let me know. My neighbor’s cat was mauled by them and had to be put down. These are dangerous dogs. Their names are Queen and King. This time the victim was a cat – next time it could be a small child.

Thank you!

Were you almost hit crossing S of 15th/RI Ave on Friday July 17 around 5:10pm?

Hi – I’m looking for a white guy medium build wearing shorts walking two dogs across the striped crosswalk just south of Rhode Island and 15th NW on Friday July 17, 2015 around 5:10pm. He was crossing legally in the crosswalk with two dogs, one of which was fluffy. Two lanes of traffic stopped for him. A forest green Mercedes SUV pulled out of the middle lane and zoomed up in the left lane to get around the stoppage, narrowly missing hitting the guy and the dogs. I believe the guy jumped out of the way (may have twisted his ankle) but it seemed that he had to drag/pull one of the dogs to safety. The SUV didn’t stop and the guy yelled after it. I was a few cars behind the SUV when it pulled out, and I subsequently ended up following behind it up 15th St to 16th St. I wanted to make sure you and your dogs are ok and say that I have the plate number for the SUV if you need it to file some kind of claim (either for your own injury of that of your dog) or report. If you can reply to this message with contact info I’d be happy to share it with you.

Found Dog in Columbia Heights

My girlfriend and I were driving home last night and saw a dog running down 16th. We were eventually able to stop it on Monroe st. between 16th and 14th. The is a short hair, 15-18lbs, white hair with dark freckles on face and legs. From a distance it looks like it could be a Jack Russell terrier, but is not. The officer took the dog and called animal services. I have the officers number. I don’t have photos of the dog, but could confirm if the owner sent a photo.

Need a Dog Walker that Works in Carver Langston

I’m in need of a dog walker that works in Carver Langston in NE DC. My husband and I currently trade off our lunch breaks to take her out, but it isn’t a long term solution. Any individuals? Businesses?

Dog Friendly Places in DC

Hi- Now that Spring is approaching, what are some great dog friendly restaurants, bars and shops in DC? I know the CVS in Chinatown is dog friendly along with Irish Channel and Alba’s on Wednesdays for HH. Any other favorites? I wish DC was a more pet friendly city, but I’ll take what I can get!

Pet care options for low-income folks?

Hi there PoPville,

I remember hearing something a while back about DC having community pet health expos? I was wondering if this was still the case. If not, does anyone know about other kinds of free or low cost resources are out there for low-income folks with pets? Ex: spay/neuter, routine shots, and care for other minor health concerns for dogs and cats. Either scheduled events or consistent programs are helpful. I do social work, and this is a relevant issue to a lot of our clients but I’ve been struggling to find good solutions.

If anyone has any information on the subject it would be wholly appreciated!!!
