Since it is *nearly* December and I am fairly new to DC, I was wondering if there are any must-see holiday events that I should go to! Also, I would really like to attend a performance of the Nutcracker, has anyone seen the Washington Ballet version?
Join us at The Wharf for a magical night on the Potomac River at the 25th Anniversary of Parade of Lights on Saturday, December 3 from 5:00PM to 8:00PM. This grand DC holiday tradition will feature festive light displays from the Potomac River as well as Wharf-side activities, including photos with Santa, a roaring bonfire, gingerbread cookie making and sailboat crafting—plus the first guaranteed snowfall of the season. Boat parade participants will be eligible to win more than $5,000 worth of cash prizes for participants departing from the docks of Old Town Alexandria to The Wharf on the District’s Southwest Waterfront. Parade participation is limited to 60 pre-registered boats and can be booked online at dcboatparade.eventbrite.com. All registration ends on Friday, November 25. Land dwellers can watch from The Wharf. The Parade is best watched adjacent to Cantina Marina at 600 Water Street SW.
