Found cat in Pleasant Plains

I found a small-ish cat on the Howard University campus. Definitely not a feral/one of the campus cats (no ear notch). She’s VERY friendly- crawls up your legs, nuzzles you, etc. Meows a lot and follows me around whenever she sees me (jumped right into my car). Might be pregnant? I’ve seen her in the past and she was very skinny, now she’s kind of fat in the middle.
She’s staying in my garage tonight (can’t bring her inside because I have an indoor cat and don’t want to risk fighting/getting her sick). I gave her food/water (she ate like she was starving), soft place to sleep, and a litterbox, and I’m planning on taking her to the Humane Rescue Alliance in the morning.

Found/Spotted – Cat Gray and White

Found this adorable cat on my way home but couldn’t get a good still image of him, so I took a video. I saw him on Park Road Northwest between 14th and 16th at 7pm on Thursday January 31. He looks really healthy, good size, probably a young adult male, with gray and white markings. He was incredibly friendly and wanted to be pet, makes me think he has a home or at least lived inside at some point. He could be a stray, but I didn’t see a clipped ear or indication that he didn’t have a home.

I can’t upload the video because its too large, and tried doing a screen grab from it but the cat moves too fast to get a clear snapshot. Here’s the link to the dropbox file (I know, mysterious link not enticing, sorry)

Missing Cat, yours?

Hi Petworth, is anybody missing this adorable feline? It is quite comfortable around people and scared outside. I found it outside of Petworth Citizen around 8:30pm Wednesday evening. No collar, doesn’t feel like a chip either. Please let me know, it’s quite friendly and could use a good home.

Found cat 9th and S NW Shaw

I found this very sweet little cat in my backyard near 9th and S St NW in Shaw. She is small, probably under a year, but litter box trained and very friendly. Might have been lost a few weeks back as she looks like she has been on her own for a little while. She didn’t have a microchip. If this is your cat let me know!

Thanks,
Siri

Cat Near U Street NW

I’ve seen this cat on 13th Street NW, between U Street & Florida Avenue multiple times. I saw it this morning investigating some cleaning supplies and was able to snap a few pictures. I’m wondering if this is someone’s indoor/outdoor cat… Any ideas how to find out who the owner might be? This cat is likely to get run over or attacked by something/someone at some point and it’s quite upsetting. The cat does not seem afraid of people and even swatted a leashed dog this morning.

We need a PSA: Cats should not be let outside, especially in the city.

Instagraming cat in need of home

W. Carver Langston is a friendly cat that lives in my alley. He’s been neutered and vaccinated as part of DC’s trap neuter return program, but since he’s young (probably about a year old) and is constantly trying to get in to my house, I’m trying to find him a forever home. He’s a fantastic companion and greets me every morning and evening, hangs out with me while I garden, and lives to be pet. He also doesn’t mind being held and is not aggressive around food. He has his own Instagram account where you can follow his escapades:www.Instagram.com/w.carverlangston

Please contact me if interested. I adore this cat, but I have 3 of my own that would not take well to a 4th!

Looking for the owner of 2 lg dogs – Queen and King

If anyone knows the owners of the 2 large dogs (a mixed shepherd and tan/white pit bull) that were roaming in Crestwood yesterday, please let me know. My neighbor’s cat was mauled by them and had to be put down. These are dangerous dogs. Their names are Queen and King. This time the victim was a cat – next time it could be a small child.

Thank you!

There's a lost cat on 11th St NW!

Spotted: an adorable black & white cat hanging around the 3100 block of 11th Street in Columbia Heights (across from Tubman elementary). The neighbors started noticing him/her 2 days ago – SUPER friendly, affectionate, well kept, etc… Clearly a pet, but has no collar.

Unfortunately, we can’t take it into our home – we plan to schedule a pickup to the WHS, but would rather find the owner! Please let me know if you have any information or recognize this little furball!

Paddington needs a new home! ❤️✨ asap please help!

I’m Paddington! Hi! I’m mostly white with orange tabby markings on his tail, butt, one on his back and on his head. I kinda gorgeous! Now let’s be frank…I have done well with other small dogs but I’ve never interacted with larger breeds. It depends really. I’ve never ever hissed, and when Mom had me in Brooklyn, other outdoor kitties would come to my window and visit my ALL the time! Humans too…I’m quite popular. 😺

I’m a very laid back, chillaxed, docile, type of guy with spurts of “kitten energy” every now and then. (Hey…I’m 4!) I L-O-V-E being groomed, and tend to be a master snuggler….which will elicit purrs of epic proportions. My attitude is very regal, especially after he’s been groomed. 😸 My Mom is moving again…and has the amazing opportunity to travel for a living (she’s a photographer) and well, I prefer something a bit more stable, ya dig? 😼 looking for a new forever home. Love me, like she does…I guarantee I’ll love ya back even more!

Is this your cat? 15th & U Streets NW

We discovered this guy or lady in our back yard one week ago and he or she has not left. Description: Cream-colored with black and tan striped tail and markings on head and body. Red dot on nose. Aggressively people-friendly, and therefore not likely feral. Chats constantly and has a loud meow.

The feral cat that we have been feeding for the past twelve years has disappeared, probably because she is afraid of this much bigger cat. Please let me know if this is your cat and we’ll arrange a pick-up.

Found kitten on 14th and Otis Pl NW last night

Hi everyone – I found this kitten darting onto 14th St. at Otis Pl NW last night around 8:45. When I paused for a second she came running to me immediately. She was so affectionate and friendly, and seemed to be well cared for but no tags or collar. I brought her home and called the Washington Humane Society, who came to pick her up since I wasn’t able to house her. The officer I spoke to said he thought she was about 5 months old and that she probably isn’t feral. If someone lost her they should contact WHS and I hope they can be reunited! Her information and a picture is posted here: http://support.washhumane.org/site/PageServer?pagename=lostfoundpet&AddInterest=1047) (scroll through and find Violet)

I’m not sure what happens if no one claims her, but this kitten is so sweet and very adoptable I imagine – in case anyone in PoPville is interested in tracking her down and adopting (a la Rickie from September 2014 – http://www.popville.com/2014/09/shes-been-renamed-rickie-short-for-frederique-in-homage-to-her-frederick-douglass-bridge-heritage-and-gender-bending-ways/)

Either way I hope she gets home!

Is Roaming Black Cat Around 7th & Quincy Yours?

I live by 7th & Quincy, and there is a very sweet black cat who comes to my window every day. He/she doesn’t have a collar, but it’s not skinny, scarred, or overly skittish, which makes me wonder if it’s just someone’s indoor/outdoor cat, or if it has escaped the safety of his home.

If I don’t hear from anyone I’ll probably start setting water and dry food outside, because I am a softy and it’s so awfully cold outside. But I don’t want to start double-feeding someone’s cat and then make it sick and/or fat, and I don’t want to encourage it to leave his home if he does indeed have one.

Thanks for reading guys!

Spotted: Cute little black and white kitty

This little critter came up to us around the intersection of 9th and Quincy on Sunday evening. Seemed well-fed and clean, probably a house cat? We gave her (him? gender unknown) some dinner and then put her back outside in case she had just gotten out for a spell and could find her way back. But we also left food, water, and a cat shelter on our porch in case she can’t. Is she yours?
