You ever try playing Cards Against Humanity … with a group of comics?
Granted, some things can’t be unheard, but it’s the laughs that have made Comics Against Humanity such a wildly popular gathering in DC. On Saturday, May 28th, the show takes its outrageous hilarity up to Bloomingdale for the first time, making its debut at Old Engine 12 Restaurant (1626 N. Capitol St., NW).
Doors open upstairs at 6pm, with Old Engine 12 offering a fantastic selection of food and drink options. At 7pm, host David Coulter kicks off the show, alongside D.C. comedic heavyweights Chelsea Shorte, Jesse Thomas, and Dee Ahmed. A portion of the proceeds go to benefit N Street Village (nstreetvillage.org), helping to provide homeless and low-income women with transitional shelter, recovery housing, and other essential services.

I’m haunting Craigslist but thought I’d post here too just in case. I’m looking for a room in a group house (or at least a friendly roommate or two) anytime between June 1 and July 1. $800/month preferred budget, but could higher depending on how much utilities run.
I’m a respectful, friendly, 25 year old woman who will be starting grad school this fall. Hoping to move before then to beat the student rush (although I’m not beating the intern rush, clearly). Looking for something long term as I’ll be in DC at least two years. Would prefer to be within 30 minutes biking distance to Georgetown (or on Capitol Hill so I can grab the bus at the law school) and walking distance from a metro or lots of reliable bus lines. Desperately trying to avoid Virginia if possible.
If you have any leads or are looking I’d appreciate any replies! Thanks!
Location: 48 Bates Street NW, Washington, D.C. 20001
Time: 10:00am to 3:00pm**
Items for Sale: Practically everything we own. But expect group-house-esque furniture and stylings (two couches, coffee table, dresser, liquor cabinet, book shelves); dining room table; DVD’s—seriously, a lot of DVD’s, even more than one of the same movie; kitchen things and –wares; random things; outdoor furniture; and board games. We’re moving so as much as possible needs to go!
*Yard is in quotes because we don’t actually have a yard.
**Will most likely be around later, but we will be enjoying margaritas during the sale, so we may need to close up shop early or it may just be a party the later you come.***
***Margs are not for sale… Or maybe they are… But, really, no they’re not.

Popville, it’s time to play a game of “Would You Rather!”
Would you rather live really close (say within 3 blocks) of a single metro station, or kinda close to two different lines — say about a 12 minute walk to one and a 15 minute walk to the other? I currently live over in South Bloomingdale and therefore use the NoMa and Shaw stops, but sometimes that 12 minute walk can be fairly daunting in harsh weather. I would love to hear what y’all think!
Suite in Bloomingdale/Le Droit Park
3-room bedroom suite for rent in row house near corner of Adams Street NW and North Capitol. Three rooms with two closets compose this “bedroom” so there is a lot of space, in addition to many windows for natural light. Each room can fit a queen-sized bed. It will be essentially unfurnished, except for a double-bed futon. All three rooms are well-heated, with two removable A/C window units and one ceiling fan for warm months.
Available from February 1, 2015. Pictures available here: http://washingtondc.craigslist.org/doc/roo/4854666890.html
You’ll be living in a cheerful, spacious house with two female roommates who are professionals in the areas of museum and library sciences. You’ll share the bathroom with only one roommate. One feline roommate, named Louise. The house has a garage and driveway, and street parking is also available. Washer and dryer are located in-house, no charge. The attic boasts quite a lot of storage space. We have also enjoyed our front porch in the warmer months!
Rent is $983 per month. Utilities (including high-speed Internet, gas, water and electricity) are around $90 per month.
Bus connections: very near to the 80, close to the G8, D8, H1, H2, H3 and H4, fairly close to the G2 and 70
Nearest metro is Shaw/Howard, also Brookland/CUA or Rhode Island or NOMA/Gallaudet
Our dog, Finnegan, just ran away, at ~5:30PM Eastern time. He was last seen at 9th and Monroe St NE, in Washington, DC. He was running the Metro Branch Trail.
He’s a mix of rat terrier and cattle dog. Photos of him are attached. Any sightings or information will be extremely helpful.
* He’s likelier to come if you crouch down and beckon or whistle. Don’t run at him, and try to crouch and stay low if you get near him.
* He responds to “Finnegan”, “Finn”, and whistles.
* He is microchipped.
* He likes peanut butter, jerky, and other normal dog things.
Thank you so much for any help or information!!
Anyone know anything about the empty lot at Florida Ave and North Capitol St.?
I checked the DC zoning map, and it looks like a planned unit development (PUD) was approved way back in 2009 for a mixed-use building (residential and retail). But, obviously nothing seems to have happened since then.
I moved to the neighborhood recently and just curious if anyone has information on it!
