Signature Speaker Series: A Conversation with Author Angela Flournoy

Come hear author and National Book Award finalist Angela Flournoy talk about her book, The Turner House. Flournoy will be in conversation with Kelly Navies, oral historian at the new Smithsonian Museum of African American History and Culture. Set in Detroit, The Turner House brings us a colorful, complicated brood full of love and pride, sacrifice and unlikely inheritances. It’s a striking examination of the price we pay for our dreams and futures, and the ways in which our families bring us home.
