I have a GE profile fridge. It was making a clicking noise for about 3 weeks and finally stopped cooling in top and bottom compartments. My repair man came and said that it was most likely just the mother board in the back of the fridge and he recommended rather than calling the GE repair folks who charge you A TON just to come look at it, for me to research the part and replace it my self. It ended up being a $90 piece of hardware that I installed myself in about 10 minutes. Before you spend TONS on repair or go out and buy a new $2400 (my fridge cost that much) try getting a new motherboard and see if that works. You can watch the YouTube video online at
It saved me so much money and now the cooling system works better than before.
I bought the part online using the seriel number at Amazon.
