My friend had some items stolen from his car at 10th & Monroe while working the day shift at The Coupe on Saturday. Especially painful was the loss of three notebooks full of songs and writings. If you come across a discarded backpack, 3 moleskin notebooks, or, long shot – a MacBook and a Chromebook laptop, please let me know. Thanks!!

We just bought this vanity and discovered that it is about an inch too wide to fit through our bathroom door, which is a total bummer. It is brand new – literally still in the box and plastic. The company is going to charge us crazy fees to return it, so we figured there might be a good home it could go to! This includes a vanity, marble top, and matching mirror – currently on sale at Wayfair for $912, but it can be yours for $750 (or best offer)! We just need it out so that we can hopefully buy another vanity that will actually fit. Tape measure fail.
Here is the wayfair listing: http://www.wayfair.com/Khaleesi-24-Single-Bathroom-Vanity-Set-with-Mirror-VTU2527.html?piid%5B0%5D=15434819
This has been in my neighborhood for a few days between Sherman Ave and Georgia Ave NW so thought I’d post it here. Saw it few nights ago on Hobart Place/Sherman Ave NW but it traveled to Georgia Ave/Columbia Rd. The ignition switch/connection seems to have been tinkered with.
I need a crown and am looking for a new dentist. Preferably in the Farragut/Dupont/Foggy Bottom area, but I can venture elsewhere.
Those who’ve gotten a crown recently, how much did it cost? My current dentist is asking $1900, which sounds high to me.
My girlfriend and I, both former residents of DC, are current law students who will be in DC for the summer and the fall semester. We are hoping to find a 1-bedroom apartment for a period of about 7 months. Given that this is an unusual lease period (and we are on a student budget), we were wondering whether anybody has had a similar experience. Does anybody have an leads on apartments/housing that allow for short-term leases or sublets? We’ve tried airbnb, but have not had much success. A furnished place would be great, but is not necessary. As an added wrinkle, we are hoping to get a dog at some point, so we are also looking for a pet-friendly place.
Greetings Popville, I lost my keys yesterday and I’m frantic. I either lost them at lunch time, somewhere between 17th and 14th, K and Eye Streets NW (McPherson Square) or in the evening on the A9 bus or on the walk between L’Enfant Plaza Plaza and 3rd and K St SW. I’ve called the places I went to (CVS, doctor’s office). My next step is WMATA and maybe the police, although I doubt anyone turned them in.
Keep your eyes peeled for:
A bulky bunch of keys that include: a navy blue lanyard that says ‘Lee’s Summit West High School 2008′, red and white beads that say “KELLY”, a purple bottle opener with “Belize” on it… A Honda Key Fob, two small gray fobs, five regular keys of varying sizes, and lots of scan tags like CVS, harris Teeter, Walgreens, MINT, etc.
I tweeted this below, feel free to RT to have your friends’ eyes out too, in case I did drop them on the road!
Help! DC friends please RT: Lost keys including Honda key fob, lanyard that says 'Lee's Summit West High School 2008' in SW DC (?)

My 10 year high school reunion is coming up next year and we are looking for metro accessible options in DC and/or Montgomery County. We have a couple of ideas (Penn Social, Buffalo Billards, etc) but I’m wondering if anyone knows of any venues that offer private/semi-private spaces, preferably with low (or no) food or beverage minimums and small deposits. We’re going to have a SUUUUUPER limited budget and typical venues that require substantial deposits are not really an option. We discussed an October event, and would love to play off the Halloween theme (because who doesn’t love costume parties?!). Does anyone have any experience planning a high school reunion in DC? I just planned a wedding but a reunion is a completely different ball game!
Thanks in advance for any suggestions!
I know what you were thinking, that looks a lot like Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, but alas, this is The Kitten Harts. Meet Theena, Midnight, Mason, Hardie and Alex, all ready for adoption through the Washington Humane Society. They are in foster care on Capitol Hill, waiting for their forever homes.
They were born at the end of May and are just around 7 weeks old. They are all fantastic at using the litter box, love toys, people and of course, snuggling! They each have wonderful, BIG personalities, so feel free to come meet them if you are interested in a forever-buddy (or 2 or 3…).
Midnight Hart: This sassy little girl will melt the heart of even the coldest human. With her striking eyes, mink colored coat and just the most adorable personality, let her be your next confidant and best friend.
Mason Hart: Mason is the ginger of the Hart family, but don’t think that’s a bad thing. He’s orange and loving it. His adorable sleeping positions, lovable snuggling personality and his sweet demeanor make him the perfect combination of company and snuggle buddy.
Alex Hart: Alex is the wonder kitten. He was the first of his litter to eat solid food, play with toys and use the litter box. He is totally adaptable and would love lots of toys, kids and i’m sure would be great with a dog. Alex is not only totally, unbelievably adorable, but is the cat for anyone who wants a dog. With some time, I’m sure he will fetch, sit and roll over.
Hardie Hart: This big boy is a lovable snuggle bear. With his teddy bear like paws, he is super calm and will be a totally chill kitten for anyone to take home.
Theena Hart: The name Theena is indicative of an expressive, diplomatic and refined personality. That she is! This little girl is so adorable and loves to sit on your lap and peruse the world below. She is a snuggler, smart and just about as chill as kittens come. This little girl is for you if you are looking for a couch buddy and permanent sidekick.
If you are interested in meeting any of the Harts, email Foster Mom, Jessie, at [email protected].
I’m Paddington! Hi! I’m mostly white with orange tabby markings on his tail, butt, one on his back and on his head. I kinda gorgeous! Now let’s be frank…I have done well with other small dogs but I’ve never interacted with larger breeds. It depends really. I’ve never ever hissed, and when Mom had me in Brooklyn, other outdoor kitties would come to my window and visit my ALL the time! Humans too…I’m quite popular. 😺
I’m a very laid back, chillaxed, docile, type of guy with spurts of “kitten energy” every now and then. (Hey…I’m 4!) I L-O-V-E being groomed, and tend to be a master snuggler….which will elicit purrs of epic proportions. My attitude is very regal, especially after he’s been groomed. 😸 My Mom is moving again…and has the amazing opportunity to travel for a living (she’s a photographer) and well, I prefer something a bit more stable, ya dig? 😼 looking for a new forever home. Love me, like she does…I guarantee I’ll love ya back even more!
Moving? I have 16 medium and small moving boxes from Uhaul and Home Depot that are yours for free! I also have bubble wrap used between dishes that’s yours if you want it.
Boxes available immediately! I’m at 16th and R and you could pick them up today.
Location: 48 Bates Street NW, Washington, D.C. 20001
Time: 10:00am to 3:00pm**
Items for Sale: Practically everything we own. But expect group-house-esque furniture and stylings (two couches, coffee table, dresser, liquor cabinet, book shelves); dining room table; DVD’s—seriously, a lot of DVD’s, even more than one of the same movie; kitchen things and –wares; random things; outdoor furniture; and board games. We’re moving so as much as possible needs to go!
*Yard is in quotes because we don’t actually have a yard.
**Will most likely be around later, but we will be enjoying margaritas during the sale, so we may need to close up shop early or it may just be a party the later you come.***
***Margs are not for sale… Or maybe they are… But, really, no they’re not.
I’m in need of a dog walker that works in Carver Langston in NE DC. My husband and I currently trade off our lunch breaks to take her out, but it isn’t a long term solution. Any individuals? Businesses?
