I had my yellow Peugeot bicycle stolen this afternoon. It was parked in an alley near P and Marion St.
Its a shot in the dark, but I’d appreciate any info/tips regarding its whereabouts.
Attached is a picture of me and my Peugeot in happier times.
I found a man’s watch and wedding band in a Car2Go on the morning of October 7th at the 800 block of Marietta Place NW. The folks at Car2Go have not been helpful in getting these items back their owner, despite having the information about who used the car before I did. If this could be yours, please provide your contact information. If you can describe the watch accurately , I will arrange to get the itemss back to you. Thanks!

If you are missing a cruiser-type bike we found a Northwoods model in our front tree box, corner of 7th Street & Maryland NE. Please contact me with details if you wish to claim it back. I have it safe in our home until contacted.
The Marie Reed Elementary School PTA has an Indiegogo campaign to raise money for science classes for our first and second grade after care program.
The beauty of Indiegogo is that a lot of small contributions add up quickly, so we would be grateful for any donation you can give us.
So far, our most effective strategy has been sharing on social media, so, if you can, please share on Facebook or Twitter.
I just got a ticket from DPW for putting out my trash bins on the wrong day.
The trash bins go in the alley, so they’re not in anyone’s way, and for as long as I can remember everyone in the alley has had bins out seven days a week. The DPW photo of my bins even shows the alley full of other bins. So I would contend that if I got a ticket they should have ticketed everyone, and further, if they wanted to start enforcing this rule after so many years of nonenforcement they should have sent out notices.
I think I have a strong case for desuetude (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Desuetude — laws made unenforceable due to a long habit of nonenforcement). Does anyone have any experiences fighting tickets like these?
I found a Schwinn Mountain bike in Petworth, around about a block from the metro discarded in an alley. I left it for awhile thinking maybe someone just stopped for a bit but it was moved to the sidewalk and placed upside down. Pretty sure it was stolen or maybe taken for a joy ride. The tires are flat and I didn’t see if it rode well (gears working, etc) but the frame is in good condition.
My husband and I were walking our dog on Saturday and came across this white and gray dog with no collar on Oglethorpe St. NE between Riggs Rd. and 6th St. NE. The dog appears to be a pit bull or pitty mix and quite young- I would guess around 1 year old.
He was extremely friendly and wanted to play with our dog, and followed us to Nicholson St NE (near Riggs Rd), where we found a police officer who took the dog.
He was very clean, not scared and really friendly, so I’m assuming he is not a stray. I hope this helps someone find their sweet pup.
Our cat, Woodrow, accidentally got out this evening around 7:15-7:20pm. He is a gray cat with black stripes. The undersides of his back paws are black with his left ear clipped. We live on Rock Creek Church Rd NW. If you see him, he is likely to be very skittish so approach slowly and/or please contact us immediately at [email protected] to let us know where you saw him. He is also chipped so you can contact the humane society as well (202-576-6664).

I just moved in Petworth area. I live at the intersection of New Hampshire and Emerson street. I am looking for running buddies that I can accompany with. I am beginners at running and can do 3 -5 miles. Will look forward to finding a running buddy.
not sure if someone already reported this but I saw this cat right near Glenn’s market in DuPont that looked lost … it has a blue tag you can kind of see in the pic below but didn’t get close enough to read the full tag!
Hope someone will find this sweetie soon.
Honor the past, present and future of Southwest DC at Crossing the Street: SW Is… – a performance and community event celebrating the bold and powerful voices of SW!
SW Is… is the culmination of Crossing the Street, a District-wide creative placemaking initiative sponsored by the DC Office of Planning. The project empowers residents of rapidly changing neighborhoods to respond to the development around them through the arts. YPT is the Crossing the Street curator for SW, and has been working with local artists and community leaders to write theatrical pieces addressing issues that affect the neighborhood. On Saturday, October 22, professional actors and community members will bring those pieces to life!
Join YPT for performances, art and family fun in the lot near 4th & I St. SW (behind the Safeway complex). The main event will run from 12-3pm, followed by a community celebration in The Lot SW! Free and open to the public!
Hi, my friend’s bike was stolen today outside of her office on M and 20th downtown. She just moved to DC for an unpaid internship as a graduate student and can’t afford to replace it, so I was hoping the PoP community might help and keep an eye out for it–especially if it shows up online.
Frankly, I’m shocked that someone could have gotten away with clipping a bike lock in such a high traffic area … the Golden Triangle BID should be concerned about this.
Some poor sap put his computer on the top of his car and drove off. It flew of his car at the intersection of Mass and 6th NW. I picked it up – if you lost your Macbook, let me know! It covered with stickers, in a black case, and had a land survey in the case as well.
We need your help to find a home for Mischa.
She is a beautiful girl, friendly girl whose owner doesn’t want her any more. We think she is about 2 years old and “lives” at the corner store at 12th and M but prefers to wander the neighborhood. She’s been staying with us here at the Iowa for a while, but We’d like to find her someplace warm and loving before winter. Interested people can contact [email protected].
