The right dining table can make or break a space – it’s one of those mysterious furniture items that can be strangely hard to get right, and I’m not sure why. Today’s post offers up a few sizes and styles to get you started. Try shabby mismatched chairs with that farm table, or brightly colored fiberglass shell chairs with the tulip-based one, and those avocado chairs (last listing) could be well worth the trouble if you’re willing to trek to PA!

Strangely enough, I’ve found that there’s almost never a shortage of vintage pedal cars available on Craigslist. My family has had the same John Deere pedal tractor since the 50′s – it’s on its third generation of riders and still works perfectly and looks great. Vintage toys of any type are a great heirloom to pass from generation to generation, and are sure to outlast any battery powered contraption by at least a few millennia…
Though some of these are listed a little farther than usual, they might be well worth the journey. Happy Hunting!

I find that it sometimes pays to jump on a Craigslist pair – they can be difficult to come across. Don’t need two? Just sell the other back onto CL to help defray the cost – but don’t be a jerk and charge triple for one what you paid for the pair…or charge triple for one what you paid for two and call it entrepreneurship…? Today’s Listed District roundup goes all metal on your asses – am I allowed to say that on the internet? In my experience one or two metal items, be it stainless steel or rusted iron, in an otherwise clean decor can instantly add some much needed interest or warmth. It’s the texture and imperfections in our lives that add the most interest, and, my house and life have plenty of both – I wouldn’t have it any other way.
