“On May 9, 2021, at approximately 02:35 AM Officers responded to the 400 block of Emerson Street NW for sounds of Gunshots. Once on the scene officers located multiple shell casing. No report of any injuries or property damage. The incident is being investigated by the Fourth District Detective’s Office.

Before moving to its current location in Bethesda, Maryland, Walter Reed Army Medical Center occupied this massive 113 acre campus from 1909 to 2011. During its 102 years, it grew from 80 beds to 5500 rooms while serving tens of thousands of wounded troops and veterans from WWI to Iraq and Afghanistan Wars. Many presidents were treated at this hospital including President Eisenhower who died here. Read More
