WHAT: Pearl Dive Oyster Palace will host their second Crawfish Boil of the season on Saturday, May 18th, 2013. Back by popular demand, guests will enjoy Louisiana crawfish, whole-roasted, sustainably raised suckling pig, cornbread, peel and eat shrimp, house-made Andouille sausage, and a selection of Southern inspired sides and desserts from pastry chef Carri-Anne Hamer. Louisiana’s Abita Brewing Company beers will complement the food for the duration of each two-hour seating. Pearl Dive Chef James Huff, who has cooked in popular New Orleans kitchens Delmonico and Stella, will prepare the select grade crawfish from Crawley, Louisiana with potatoes and corn, and season them with the signature Cajun “Slap Ya Mama” seasoning. All dishes will be served family style. Tickets can be purchased for $65 per person exclusive of tax. All ticket purchases include all you can drink Abita Amber and all the boil you can eat for two hours.

WHEN: Saturday, May 18, 2013 with two seatings from 12 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., and 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Etto coming to the former Well Built space at 14th and Q St, NW soft opens this Wednesday. This is the new Italian restaurant from the owners of Standard (14th and S St, NW.) I stopped by yesterday to take a quick peek inside. To say that this place looks legit is a massive understatement. They even have their own mill! I’m dying to try a pizza from this oven:

And the bread looks pretty good too:

I’ve no doubt the place is gonna be smashed on Wed. but I look forward to fighting for a seat!

Yesterday I mentioned that the new Italian Restaurant, Ghibellina, coming to the former HR-57 space in Logan Circle was now hiring. Well their sign has also gone up and you can take a peek in the window of the first floor. Looks like another sweet addition to Logan Circle:

In January we noted the exterior renovations at the former HR-57 and future Ghibellina were starting to look good at 1610 14th Street, NW. They’re now hiring – looking forward to getting a peek at the inside soon!
