Yesterday we heard the news that a DSW would be coming into the old Borders space in Friendship Heights. Looks like the downtown Borders at 18th and L St, NW might have a new tenant as well. Bisnow shares some scuttlebutt:
“that Nordstrom Rack is negotiating a lease at 1800 L St, Borders’ former location”
Nordstrom Rack currently has a DC location in Friendship Heights at 5333 Wisconsin Avenue, NW.

Tanad Thai is located at 4912 Wisconsin Ave, NW. In Jan. 2012 we noted that there was a lot of love for 4912 Thai which was closed after it’s retail license was suspended.

Washington Business Journal shares the goods:
The restaurant from Bryan Voltaggio at Chevy Chase Pavilion will be called Range and will open in late fall.
Range will occupy 14,000 square feet at the location. It will have an open kitchen and feature an extensive cocktail program with an emphasis on local ingredients. It will house a bakery and retail shop as well.
Bryan Voltaggio “is co-owner and executive chef of Volt Restaurant in Frederick, Maryland, which received a James Beard nomination for Best New Restaurant in 2009.” Chevy Chase Pavilion is located at 5335 Wisconsin Ave, NW.

Thanks to all who wrote in about the progress at the Rosa Mexicano located at 5225 Wisconsin Ave, NW, opening up Sat. at 5pm.

A press release says:
“The 150-seat restaurant includes spacious indoor, outdoor, and private dining seating. Blending traditional and modern elements of Mexican craft and architecture, the warm and vibrant decor features Rosa Mexicano’s signature hues of pinks and purples. Multi-dimensional art work complements rich fabrics and textures, as well as a floor-to-ceiling display of tequila bottles.
