My kinda people!
My kinda people!
Last week we spoke about deer in Crestwood – thanks to David for sending a couple photos of thise beauties from his yard:
I’ve been featuring a lot of Crestwood homes as house of the day this week – a good chance to check some in person – from an email:
“CASA KAOS 2015
Crestwood Tour of the Homes to Fund Low Income Housing
Question: Where does the Tour begin?
Answer: At the house EVERYONE (slight hyperbole) is talking about – the new house on Mathewson! You can stop wondering what it looks like inside because Myron and Judy have invited you in!
A few titillating facts:
The house began with a vision for a modern glass house on a hill in the woods and found a life in Crestwood. Their architects and builders created their tree house with open architecture and multiple terraces including an expansive terraced patio.OUTSIDE feast your senses on Asian gardens, a waterfall and a white cedar porch. INSIDE there is even more: European fixtures and appliances and Italian cabinets in the kitchen. The bedroom even has its own terrace with a jacuzzi, lacquered Italian bedroom suite and a TV cabinet with an electronic lift and an Italian bubble soaking tub. Plus the house is “smart”, controlled by mobile phones or i-pads; motorized shades and screens, computerized lighting, and an AV system in every room.Come see it for yourself….

Comments to the original Good Deal or Not (GDoN) post included much speculation as to whether a change in school boundaries could affect home prices in the Crestwood neighborhood. Since most of the clients I have personally worked with in Crestwood, as well as friends who live in the neighborhood have either a) not had school age kids, or b) have kids in private school, I think it’s unlikely that a change in school boundaries would have much of an effect on prices. In any case, the current school locator continues to show this property within boundary for Wilson High School. You can see the August 2014 final recommendations on the boundary issues here.
The subject property was purchased in February 2014 for $620,000. Unfortunately, there is only an exterior Before pic.
You can see current active listings, pendings, and solds since March 2014 in the Crestwood neighborhood here.
The listing agent was Janette Harvey of Central Properties, LLC. Rob Williams of DC Home Buzz represented the buyer in this transaction.
‘House of the Day’ this week has featured lots of great ones from Crestwood – can’t wait to see how this one turns out:
