A lot of inquiries this morning about a shooting/shots fired in Rosedale last night:

“any idea what happened 11:30pm around 16th and Isherwood NE? Heard multiple gunshots, rapid response from MPD + helicopter.”

From Alert DC: “Shooting at 2300 hrs in the1600 b/o Isherwood St., NE. No lookout at this time”

MPD reports:

Adult male victim sustained gunshot wound. He is conscious & breathing. Have info contact 727-9099

Update from MPD:

“At approximately 2331 hours on May 23, 2016, MPD officers responded to the 400 block of 16th St NE regarding the sounds of gunshots. The officers discovered the adult male victim lying on the ground, conscious and breathing, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to the hospital by ambulance, where he was admitted. There was no usable lookout for the suspect. There is no further information available for dissemination at this time. The investigation is ongoing.

“On September 23, 2015, at approximately 3:00 pm, Fifth District units responded to the 1600 block of Kramer Street, NE, in reference to the sounds of gunshots. Once on the scene, the units interviewed a subject who indicated that unknown person(s) had shot at him and he further advised that he was not injured. Later during the midnight tour on the same date, members of the Fifth District were able to locate two suspects believed to have been involved in the earlier shooting and place them under arrest. Additionally, the officers were able to recover one handgun in the south alley of the 1600 block of Benning Road, NE. This case is an excellent example of the Fifth District Crime Suppression Team and Patrol officers working hand-in-hand with the Fifth District Detectives’ Unit to make an arrest and get another dangerous weapon off the streets of our community.”

UPDATE from MPD:

“In the afternoon hours of June 28, 2015 members of the 5th District responded to the 1600 block of E St NE in reference to a call for a shooting. An adult male victim was located suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. The victim was transported to a local hospital where he later succumbed from his injury. This case is being investigated by the Detectives of the Homicide Division. Anyone with information is encouraged to call 911 or MPD’s Command Information Center at 202-727-9099.”

“The Fifth District is currently investigating a shooting that occurred near the 600 block of 15th St. N.E. Anyone who has information regarding this case should call police at 202-727-9099. Additionally, information may be submitted to the TEXT TIP LINE by text messaging 50411. DC Crime Solvers currently offers a reward of up to $1,000 to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for an assault committed in the District of Columbia.”

Another reader reported:

“Approximately 20 cop cars just sped by 11st St SE heading east at at least 50-60 mph…helicopter overhead….can’t find any info on what’s going on.”

Haven’t seen any more info about that incident.

“On the afternoon of June 17, Fifth district members and Patrol Support units responded to a call for a man with a gun in the 1500 blk of F St NE. The suspect was observed in the 1500 block of F. St. NE. Upon seeing the police, the suspect fled on foot and was stopped at 1700 Gales St. NE. The suspect was found to have been in possession of a firearm and was placed under arrest. By using good communication and tactics, 5D and Patrol Support units were able to resolve a dangerous situation and apprehend an armed suspect and remove a weapon from the streets.”

“Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Youth Investigations Division announced that on Thursday, February 5, 2015, 33-year-old Leroy Damein Ware of Northeast, DC, a Miner Elementary School teacher, was arrested pursuant to a DC Superior Court arrest warrant and charged with Misdemeanor Sex Abuse of a Child.

“Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying and locating a suspect in connection with a First Degree Sexual Abuse while Armed that occurred in the 1500 block of Isherwood Street, Northeast.

On Sunday, July 13, 2014, between 1:00 am and 1:30 am, an adult female was inside of her residence located in the 1500 block of Isherwood Street, NE, when the suspect entered and sexually assaulted her.

The suspect is described as a black male, tall, medium to heavy build, dark complexion, short hair, tattoo on the neck, 40’s, white t-shirt and blue jeans; armed with a handgun.

Anyone who has information regarding this case should call police at 202-727-9099. Additionally, information may be submitted to the TEXT TIP LINE by text messaging 50411.
