Speaking of quits, I think the old Footaction across the street closed here back in 2010, can’t find my original post but it was around then and it’s been vacant ever since. Seems like a prime spot to be vacant for so long. Any guesses as to why? Simply asking too much? It’s been vacant since well before any pandemic issues.

Had hope for a minute there back in 2018: Read More

My phone is a bit more than 3 years old and is starting to fail on me. The whole screen just turns black after being fully charged. But 3 years seems awfully fast to replace it. Or am I delusional? How often do you replace your phones? Laptops? Do you just wait for it to fail, whenever that happens, and replace them then? Curious on overage how long that tends to be for you guys.

A reader sent in a pretty upsetting scooter crash the other day and was curious why we rarely see riders wearing helmets. In the same vein of wearing seat belts in cars, shouldn’t we wear helmets to prevent possible injuries when scooting? For those who scoot – do you wear a helmet? For cyclists, do you wear a helmet when riding?

Ed. Note: This question is not intending to place blame on the rider for the crash.

Welp, after 3.5 years Covid finally got me. Walloped me pretty good but starting to feel much better now! But hopefully you haven’t noticed here. Anyway, I’ve been quarantined from my family and watching a fair bit of Netflix when I can’t read anymore. So, having just finished Beauty Queen of Jerusalem (on Netflix), I’m ready for another good foreign series. What are some foreign series you’ve enjoyed recently? (we had a fun chat about this back in 2012.) Please let us know what service the show streams on too.

From Council Chair Phil Mendelson:

“DC Council Chairman Phil Mendelson released a statement following the announcement by Congressman Comer of a bill to transfer by a long-term lease the Robert F. Kennedy Memorial Campus site to the District. Read More
