T-Half Hour to Swim Time at Banneker!! (tomorrow for other outdoor pools!)

“On Friday, May 26, at 4:00 p.m., Mayor Muriel Bowser will kick off the 2017 summer outdoor pool season at Banneker Recreation Center. 93.9 WKYS will broadcast live.

Outdoor aquatic facilities will officially open on Saturday, May 27. The Department of Parks and Recreation’s (DPR) aquatic inventory includes 18 outdoor pools, 11 indoor pools, 23 spray parks and two children’s pools. DPR outdoor pools will operate from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. from Saturday, May 27, through Memorial Day Monday, May 29. For more information on the summer outdoor pools schedule, visit: summer.dc.gov.

“This summer DPR’s aquatic inventory includes 18 outdoor pools, 11 indoor pools, 23 spray parks and two children’s pools.

Outdoor pools will open for the summer on Saturday, May 27, 2017 and will operate through Memorial Day weekend (May 27, 28 and 29) from 12 pm to 6 pm; and will operate on a weekends-only schedule (Saturday and Sunday) through June 18. Starting June 19, all outdoor pools will operate on individual summer schedules.

Please note that East Potomac Pool (972 Ohio Dr. SW/Ward 2) and Happy Hollow (2200 Champlain Street, NW/Ward 1) are closed for the season due to renovations.

Lincoln Capper (555 L St., SE/Ward 6) and Park View (693 Otis Pl. NW/Ward 1) children’s pools will open for the summer on Memorial Day weekend (May 27, 28 and 29) from 11 am to 6 pm; and will operate on a weekends-only schedule (Saturday and Sunday) through June 18. Starting June 19, Lincoln Capper and Park View children’s pools will operate Wednesday through Sunday from 11 am – 6 pm and close from 2 pm – 2:30 pm.

All spray parks will open for the summer on Saturday, May 27 and will operate daily, from 10 am to 7 pm, for the entire summer season. Spray parks will operate through Monday, September 4.”
