Today’s Rental “is on the second floor of a house about a mile from the Petworth Metro”

rental

This rental is located at Illinois Ave NW at Ingraham St. The Craigslist ad says:

“$725 / 1br – Spacious Single Room in 4br House (5317 Illinois Ave NW)

One housemate is moving out in the middle of May, and we’re looking for another person to take her room. The room is available starting May 20. We are all on individual leases, and our landlady is looking for a 12 month commitment (no summer housing).

The room is on the second floor of a house about a mile from the Petworth Metro, 1.5 miles from the Fort Totten metro. Bus stops for the 70/79 to take you into DC or up to Silver Spring are steps from the door, along with bus stops for the E4 (west to Friendship Heights or east to Fort Totten). It is about 10×8 and has two large windows and a medium-sized closet.

I think it’s the same size as my room, meaning it should easily fit a queen bed. You would share a living room and bathroom with the two upstairs housemates, but one of them is hardly ever in residence–I have seen him maybe twice in the past 6 months. My other housemate has a very small room and uses the living room as an artist studio. I am a young professional in my mid-20s and have my own self-contained living, br, bath on the first floor. I host the occasional game night, but am fairly quiet other than that.

We keep to ourselves for the most part, but are on friendly terms and would be looking for another person to fit in with that. We rotate cleaning of common areas. I strongly prefer having a non-smoking housemate, as previous and current roommates do smoke and I am having more difficulty with it than I used to.

House includes shared kitchen with gas stove and new fridge, washer/dryer, backyard patio, and street parking. Utilities generally run between $75 and $110.”

For many remote workers, a messy home is distracting.

You’re getting pulled into meetings, and your unread emails keep ticking up. But you can’t focus because pet hair tumbleweeds keep floating across the floor, your desk has a fine layer of dust and you keep your video off in meetings so no one sees the chaos behind you.

It’s no secret a dirty home is distracting and even adds stress to your life. And who has the energy to clean after work? That’s why it’s smart to enlist the help of professionals, like Well-Paid Maids.
