“Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch announced an arrest has been made in connection with the 2009 disappearance of Pamela Butler.
On Tuesday, February 17, 2009, officers assigned to the Metropolitan Police Department’s Fourth District responded to the 5800 block of 4th Street, Northwest, for the report of a missing person. The missing person was identified as 47-year-old Pamela Butler of Northwest, DC. After an extensive investigation, and more than seven years missing, a Petition for Presumption of the Death of a Missing Person was granted by a DC Superior Court Judge. A death certificate was issued for Ms. Butler in July 2016.
On Saturday, April 8, 2017, pursuant to a DC Superior Court arrest warrant, members of the Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force arrested 51-year-old Jose Rodriguez-Cruz of Fairfax, Virginia. He was transported to the Homicide Branch where he is being charged with First Degree Murder-Premeditated in connection with the disappearance of Pamela Butler.“
