“On our patio, we will be grilling unfathomable amounts of onions” Plus New Cider Release

anxo
300 Florida Ave, NW

From an email:

“This Sunday 4/30, ANXO will be hosting a Calçotada from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Calçotada is a Catalan festival and celebration of calçot onions. On our patio, we will be grilling unfathomable amounts of onions, which are wrapped in newspaper as they are grilled. Guests pull away the charred exteriors, dip the onions in romesco, and slurp them up. The onions will also be served with grilled pan con tomate.

In addition to ANXO’s extensive cider menu and select porrónes, ANXO will be holding free Txotx demonstrations on the top of each hour through the event. Txotx is the Basque celebration of cider, and revolves around catching cider straight from the barrel.

The cider poured for this Txotx will be ANXO Sidra Natural #1. This is the first cider fermented in house at our 300 Florida Avenue location. In addition to being poured for the Txotx, 120 bottles will be available for sale at the event.

This event is a special one for ANXO. It combines Catalan culinary traditions native to our chef, Alex Vallcorba, and Basque cider traditions that drive our cider list.

For many remote workers, a messy home is distracting.

You’re getting pulled into meetings, and your unread emails keep ticking up. But you can’t focus because pet hair tumbleweeds keep floating across the floor, your desk has a fine layer of dust and you keep your video off in meetings so no one sees the chaos behind you.

It’s no secret a dirty home is distracting and even adds stress to your life. And who has the energy to clean after work? That’s why it’s smart to enlist the help of professionals, like Well-Paid Maids.
