  • Really hope it’s the same Maiwand Grill, because the one in Baltimore is amazing.

  • Mmmmm – I hope it’s Afghani food! Given that Lapis is two blocks away maybe this will be a simpler/fast option.

  • PRINCE! Afghani is the currency. For everything else, use Afghan as the descriptor.

    • This is one of my pet peeves, so pardon my irritation, but FFS NO ONE GOES AROUND SAYING AMERICANI.

      • I was going to comment to say the same thing!

While I understand how it can be personally upsetting, we also live in America, so it conveys that people generally know the proper tense when using American vs “Americani” as a descriptor (although it seems increasingly that people from other countries speak English more correctly than we do). Expecting people to know the proper tense for each respective country, since it does vary, is a bit much (although when publishing something, as with anything else, you should always confirm).

  • From Wikipedia:
“The fictional Doctor Watson, companion of Sherlock Holmes, was wounded in the Battle of Maiwand (as described in the opening chapter of A Study in Scarlet).”

Elementary, my dear Prince (I know, I know, Holmes never said that…)

  • The Maiwand Grill in Baltimore is freaking delicious. I really hope this is a sister restaurant!!
