MPD Still Looking for Person of Interest for the Inauguration Day Assault with a Lighter – Potential Person of Interest Ruled Out

“The Metropolitan Police Department seeks the public’s assistance in identifying a person of interest in reference to an Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Lighter) offense which occurred in the 700 block of Pennsylvania Avenue, Northwest on Friday, January 20, 2017.

At approximately 2:00 pm, the suspect approached the female victim and set her hair on fire. The victim did not sustain any injuries.

The Metropolitan Police Department has investigated several tips from the public regarding this offense. As a result of information received from the public Ms. Norma Zahory was named as a potential person of interest. After a thorough investigation, it was determined Ms Zahory was not in the area at the time of the incident and Ms Zahory has been ruled out as being involved in this offense.. Detectives encourage the public to continue to assist with information.
