  • The bar for estate seems very low in Capitol Hill. The Rockefellers’ house in Crestwood usually is described as the last estate in DC and the land area is large enough that the house is never visible even with bare trees in winter. The GI Bill houses where I grew-up were sited on lots twice the size of this house. Embassy-sized rooms seems more off putting than what the photos reveal.

    All that aside–it looks elegant, largely well preserved and also like a place that someone might actually find comfortable to live-in.
