Thanks to a reader for passing on:

“The White House
1600 Pennsylvania Avenue
Sunday, 1 PM – 3 PM

Join us at the White House and say NO to Trump’s new policies that will ban refugees, immigrants, and visa holders from Iran, Iraq, Syria, Libya, Sudan, Somalia and Yemen. We won’t stay silent. Let’s fight!

Please share this page with your friends in the DC area.

Location: Meet us at the Marquis de Lafayette Statue in front of the White House on intersection of Madison and Pennsylvania. Find the exact location in our pinned post.
Suggestions:
– If possible, don’t drive as parking will be difficult to find. The closest Metro stations are Metro Center (Red, Orange, Blue, Silver) and McPherson Square (Orage, Blue, Silver). Or use BikeShare.
– Do not bring large bags if possible.
– Wear colorful clothes, scarves, etc.
Stay vigilant, stay motivated!
See you at 1pm”

  • I’ve never been much of a protester or activist, but that’s all changed with Trump. I’ll be there tomorrow, and the next one, and the next one.

Same here. My first protest was the Women’s March. The protests may not change Trump’s mind, but Congress will (eventually) need to pay attention.

  • is there an event page for this? would like to more.

  • Thank you for posting!! Will be going. This policy is unacceptable, reactionary and fear-based BS.

  • There are no words for the cruelty and incompetence of this edict. There is no way I can not attend this protest.

  • There was an Iranian man interviewed today on CNN. A PhD student whose wife was coming back from Iran. She was rejected from coming here and he talked about how he does not think he will stay in the US now because he does not feel safe. For someone to say they want to LEAVE the US because they do not feel safe – it’s beyond sad.

  • This is not what America stands for. I will be there tomorrow. Just another individual in a crowd, but that’s where it starts….

  • I’m there. My mother in law has a Syrian passport and a green card. So she can’t come home and my 3 year old is flipping out because he misses his grandma This racist ban hurts everyone- even the youngest Americans.

  • Thank you for posting, PoPville. Just changed plans for day – will be there. This is not the country we are. 🙁
