Colada Shop Opens Wednesday – Peek Inside and at the Menu

1405 T Street, NW. Photo by Rey Lopez

At long last the Colada Shop opens at 14th and T tomorrow and I’m happy to report it is awesome. Only thing is, it’s a bit smaller than I realized, fortunately they fill the space nicely. And more importantly the food was absolutely delicious. Every single thing I tried, I immediately wanted another one. Check the full menus below.

“To celebrate the opening of the DC location, on opening day – Wednesday, February 1st – Colada Shop will have surprise giveaways to the first 100 guests to walk through the door. Doors will open at 10:00AM.”

You can read the full press release here.

  • Congrats on the design & build. This looks incredible. I’m a big fan of sidewalk/street-facing seating.

  • This looks FABULOUS!!!!

  • YES… looks so good. is there any more seating, or are the window seats all?

    • There are tables and chairs in the foreground of the first picture, but it doesn’t look like there’s very much inside.

  • Wow I love that design! I can’t wait to check it out!!

    • Commenting again because I just checked out the menu and omg does it sound good. I had no idea how badly DC was missing a place like this until I saw it 😉 Can’t wait for some after work happy hours there in the summer!

  • Free stuff at 7am? That’s awesome. For once I may actually make it!

  • OMG…Media Noches! Finally, and just in time when I need a sandwich shop other than Taylor. Thank you Universe!!!

    • I Dont Get It

Right on! At noon i was at that 14th St grocery that also sells bagels and sandwiches. I ordered a sandwich and was told they weren’t serving sandwiches until 12:30. I was there a couple of weeks ago on a Sunday at 1:30 and was told they were out of sandwiches. Nice to have more options.

  • It will be strange to have a colada that isn’t out of a styrofoam cup, but somehow, I think I’ll manage.

  • Wow, what a beautiful and eclectic space!

  • The space looks great! I tried their food at an event last year, and it was incredible.

  • So, my Florida-native wife will need to know: Are they serving genuine Cuban bread or something more like French bread made to pass as Cuban?
