54 Year Old Woman Struck and Killed by Someone Driving a Dark SUV that Fled the Scene at 6:22am

“Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Major Crash Unit are investigating a fatal traffic accident that occurred on Tuesday, December 27, 2016, at approximately 6:22 am.

A dark colored sports utility vehicle (SUV) was traveling northbound in the 3500 block of 14th Street, Northwest toward Parkwood Place, Northwest. As the vehicle came to the intersection, a pedestrian who was crossing the street using a marked crosswalk was struck. The SUV then fled the crash scene without making their identity known.

The pedestrian was transported to a local hospital where she succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead. The decedent has been identified as 54-year-old Jacqueline Cole, of Northwest, DC.

This case remains under investigation. The Metropolitan Police Department is asking anyone with information about this case to call the police at 202-727-9099. Additionally, anonymous information may be submitted to the departments TEXT TIP LINE by text messaging 50411.

Members of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Liaison Unit (DHHU) are assisting investigators with this case. Any member of the deaf or hard of hearing community may contact the DHHU at 202-553-7874.”
