“For Rent is a craft cocktail bar located directly below Vieux Carre”

From a press release:

“For Rent: K Street’s newest craft cocktail bar (formerly “The Speak”) is currently taking applications for cool guests and patrons. The space is located at 1413 K Street in NW DC and is tucked directly below Vieux Carre, the new French-themed cocktail bar owned by the same management team. Like any decent Craigslist housing ad, it promises easy access to Metro, a great neighborhood walk score, and a well-stocked bar.

The layout feels like it’s made for living: active and inviting yet subtle with low lighting and intimate corners. The bar is central with an adjacent “living room” perfectly situated for friends, gatherings and board games.

Boring cocktails are guaranteed to never see the light of day, courtesy of Jesse Raines, the bar’s decorated beverage director. The Cocktail Menu consists of “DC Neighborhood” themed drinks, which highlight the city’s unique corridors.

“The space reminds me of that cool friend’s house back in the day, where everyone hung out and just ended up at the end of the night” says Raines. Cocktails will be complimented by a selection of meats and cheeses. Soon-to-be favorites from the cocktail menu can be found below:

“K-Street” Whiskey, Vermouth and two types of smoke (physical and liquid); served table side

“Palisades” A champagne cocktail containing lemon, vodka, elderflower liqueur, and simple syrup; served table side with a private half bottle of bubbly

“NOMA” Tequila, creme de cassis, lime, ginger beer, and a touch of mezcal

“U Street” A blend of cognac, triple sec, simple, lemon juice and angostura

Walking by, you’d likely miss it entirely. The subtle “For Rent” signage looks more like an advertisement for potential renters, than for a cocktail bar. Just past the main street entrance door leads you to a small cozy sitting room, furnished with rugs, a bookshelf, lamps, a velvet couch and side table. The door to enter the space is notably missing handles, and looks less like an entrance than it does of an artistic concoction of frosted glass and re-purposed wood. A large DC-style window pane sits squarely in the center of the door. The perfect destination for happy hours, first dates and late nights, For Rent fits the bill for any array of events.

The public Grand Opening will take place on Thursday, December 8th beginning from 5pm and offer $6 select cocktails.

For many remote workers, a messy home is distracting.

You’re getting pulled into meetings, and your unread emails keep ticking up. But you can’t focus because pet hair tumbleweeds keep floating across the floor, your desk has a fine layer of dust and you keep your video off in meetings so no one sees the chaos behind you.

It’s no secret a dirty home is distracting and even adds stress to your life. And who has the energy to clean after work? That’s why it’s smart to enlist the help of professionals, like Well-Paid Maids.
