  • ah

Can’t wait for the breathless headline – “Major Pot Bust next to VP Mansion”

    • Now, I don’t think that this is likely given that the Vice President is known to be a man of great honor, but I wonder if the over-anxious Feds squeezed Uncle Joe to give up his connect?

    • It’s already on the Post’s front page: “Police bust $58,000 marijuana operation near the vice president’s residence”

  • Yea, unless these guys are selling dime bags to Georgetown students, there’s no chance that 3lbs of weed have a street value of $60k.

  • The math on the street value doesn’t add up to me. If there are 16 ounces per pound, for 3 lbs that is 48 ounces, plus an additional 4 oz. for the quarter pound. That’s 52 ounces total. Street value of a quarter oz is $100, or $400 per ounce. 52*$400= street value of $20,800. A far cry from the $58,880 MPD quotes.

To get $58,880 in value, each ounce would have to have a street value of $1,132.31, or just over $283 an ounce. I can think of very few scenarios in which a quarter ounce would be worth THAT much. I know cops do this all the time to inflate sentences, but this is an egregious overvaluation for a flower.

  • I think there’s only one residential building on that block. I wonder if it was in there or in a business.

  • Somebody’s dad is a Highlander fan boy.

  • Phew, I was worried it was gonna be my weed guy. Need him fully operational.

  • Nearly 17k per LB!?!?!?! whoooooowhaaaat?!?!? Breaks down to over 1k per ounce? someone check my math. This seems extremely inflated, thanks Trump -___-

I remember when a dime cost a dime – Willie Nelson

  • Agree with others here. The dollar value is VASTLY inflated. That sounds like closer to 8-12k worth.
    .
Why doesn’t MPD focus on the drug dealers with guns in other neighborhoods rather than some kids selling weed?

    • who says these guys didnt have guns? I know of legal grow ops in a bunch of different places where the growers are carrying simply because they have been ripped off in the past. I smoke every single day, but to think there isnt serious crime associated with cannabis is foolish.

    • Arent they all just kids selling weed. Some have to protect themselves more than others. Kind of

    • you don’t know what else they sell.
you don’t know if they have weapons at home.
why should people selling drugs in rich areas get off easier than those who sell in poor areas?
